This picture is one of several recorded during a hike from the Nurnberg road trail through the back-dunes of the Wilderness Area and into wild north end of Ludington State Park, June 2024.
Ludington State Park, 5,300-acre of beauty north of Hamlin Lake with 7 miles of sandy Lake Michigan shoreline, features scenic sand dunes, three campgrounds, the iconic Big Sable Point Lighthouse, 21 miles of marked trails and more. A 1-mile stretch of the Big Sable River runs through the park and provides excellent opportunities for fishing, paddling and tubing.
